History of the Barn
Beginning in the 1970s, this barn became a pivotal training ground for racehorses, setting the stage for countless memorable performances. It was during this vibrant decade that the barn and land truly took shape. Nelson Housden dedicated his time to training horses, ensuring they are well-prepared before returning to the track at Charles Town. His commitment to their development and performance shines through in every aspect. As it welcomed numerous talented horses like Lite the Fuse Gladis, Celtic Note, Palatine, Mr. Cricket, Maggie Derwin, Dilloy, Sideral Double, Another Dee, Bertie Wooster, Grasshopper, Blue Ridge Concern and last but not least Coal Ridge.
